With a Master's in Bioinformatics, Biology or Molecular Biology you have good chances of finding a PhD position at a university in Sweden or abroad. Around 50 % of our graduates continues to a PhD.

As a biologist, you may work with management, inventory, investigations, and administration of nature and environmental conservation at county administrative boards, municipalities, or Government authorities. Many biologists work as consults in the private sector.

As a molecular biologist, you may work with development and research or sales in the pharmaceutical or food industry, at hospital laboratories, or at biotechnical and plant breeding companies.

To get a more detailed view of our students’ career choices, we did an analysis of 305 students with a master’s degree: 143 of these had a PhD position in Sweden or abroad, 127 had other jobs related to biology at the authorities, municipalities, universities, private sector, or as a consult of their own. 14 had employments that were not related to biology and 13 had continued their education to become for instance teachers. 8 out of 305 were unemployed.
