Master's programme in Molecular Biology - Molecular Genetics and Biotechnology

120 credits

The master’s programme in Molecular Genetics and Biotechnology focuses on the areas that constitute the basis in molecular genetics, including gene technology, cell biology, molecular biology and biotechnology. The programme is highly connected to research, with emphasis on genetic mechanisms underlying disease, mapping, and diagnostic methods. As a student, you will achieve practical training in molecular biology techniques, but also in the innovation process, entrepreneurship, and the commercialisation of biotechnology. Thus, you are prepared for research and for work in pharmaceutical-, biotechnology-, and food industry.

The programme comprises two years of full-time studies (120 credits). Most courses are full-time studies, normally of 15 credits. The courses are typically teaching-intensive with lectures, seminars, theoretical and practical exercises as well as self-studies. Towards the end of the programme, you perform a Degree project of 30-60 credits. Your teachers are active researchers and you will study in close association with an international research environment.
