Molecular Biology Master's degree project

You can perform a master's degree project of 30, 45 or 60 credits in either General molecular biology, or one of the specialisations Medical biology, Microbiology or Molecular genetics and biotechnology.

A 30 cr project lasts for 20 weeks, 45 cr for 30 weeks and 60 cr for 40 weeks. You work in a research group at Lund university, at another university or at a company. You should find a place where to do the project yourself. You will have your own minor individual research project that will be part of the on-going research in the host lab.

When you have found a project, you make a project plan. See link to detailed information in the right menu. Your programme coordinator will approve the plan before you can start the project. To become eligible to start a master´s degree project you should be registered for the master´s programme in Molecular Biology at Lund University and you have completed 45 credits of relevant advanced courses in Molecular Biology at Lund University (specific courses for each specialisation).
